Mixers and mixing plants are construction machines used for the production of concrete, mortar, asphalt and other mixtures. These plants can be mobile or stationary and have a variety of components such as hoppers, agitators, batching systems and conveyor belts. One of the most common types of mixers is the drum mixer. This is a rotating drum into which the ingredients for mixing are placed and are evenly mixed by the rotation of the drum. This mixing method is often used for the production of concrete. Another type of mixer is the planetary mixer, in which one or more mixing paddles rotate in a circular motion, effectively mixing the material. Mixing plants may also include automated batching systems that ensure the correct amount of materials is added to the mixer. Some mixing plants are also equipped with special heating or cooling devices to control the temperature of the mixed material. Mixing plants are used in many industries, including civil engineering, road maintenance, mining, and construction materials manufacturing.
